Microferm is a small scale cattle waste digestion facility built at a dairy farm in Den Bommel, Netherlands by bioenergy specialist, HoSt. The gas is injected directly into the national gas grid of the Netherlands. It is the first plant where 100% manure is digested in combination with the production of biomethane on this scale.
- Energy impact: 10.000 m3 of biomethane into the national gas grid over the 3 months since it came online, 200.000 m3 per year (125 households)
- Material impact: 8.000 tonnes of cattle manure processed annually
