DOC Kaas is a leading Dutch cheese manufacturer of foil and nature ripened cheese that works with a cooperative of dairy farmers. The company focuses on the reduction of energy and water consumption. DOC Kaas' factory uses a combined heating & power station to reuse the heat released during production. In addition, water is extracted from the milk and recycled in the production process as cooling water and for sanitary purposes, making DOC Kaas entirely self-reliant in terms of water. Finally, by processing whey on-site, transport is minimised. Moreover, the tankers that collect milk from farmer members drive on green gas, which significantly reduces CO2.
