The Madrid + Natural project presents the vision of an urban network of natural solutions, where the small proposed interventions connect with the large green spaces and natural elements of Madrid. Engaging businesses in devising resilient development strategies can become a vital strategy for cities looking to mitigate and adapt to climate change impacts. Involved businesses and local institutions can improve their social responsibility performance while promoting healthy districts and people’s wellbeing. Strategies include voluntary investments, the creation of guidelines for green space development, and incentives for upgrading existing structures. Roof space is underutilised in many cities.
